Hi, I’m Kristen.

I’m a fine artist living and working in Northern Minnesota, where I paint the places, seasons, flowers, and little moments that catch my attention.

I’ve always been drawn to the landscape around me—especially the North Shore and Lake Superior. I love the way the light changes throughout the year, the colors of the seasons, and those quiet moments when a familiar place suddenly looks completely different.

Most of my paintings are acrylic landscapes and florals, painted in a modern impressionist style. I like expressive brushwork and lots of color, but I also want my paintings to feel like a place you could step into. I’m not trying to paint every detail exactly as I see it. I’m more interested in capturing the feeling of being there.

Painting has become a much bigger part of my life in recent years. I spent many years working in graphic design, which I still love, but there’s something very different about sitting down at my easel and figuring out where a painting wants to go. It’s a little less controlled—and I think that’s part of what I enjoy about it.

These days, I’m focused on building a life and business around my artwork. 

My hope is that something here reminds you of a place you love, a season you look forward to, or simply makes you stop and look for a minute.
